Frequently asked questions

Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions and Answers section. We update this area regularly to reflect Flightdeck’s continuous development. These questions come from you. We hope that you find them informative.
  • Is Flightdeck cloud based?
Flightdeck is a rich Windows application with a Microsoft SQL database back end. Utilising Microsoft Azure remote hosted database services, Flightdeck can now be cloud based. Providing you have a Microsoft Windows 8 or above computer, Flightdeck installed and an internet connection you can access Flightdeck from anywhere in the world at alarming speeds.
  • Does Flightdeck integrate with other systems?
Yes it does. Flightdeck will work alongside your other systems enabling you to access all your data from one place. If you have Sales, Accounting or other external database systems that contain data related to your Flightdeck data, you can display it within Flightdeck.

If you have a Tapi compliant phone system it can also integrate with that enabling you to associate callers with their details before you even answer the call.

  • How does Flightdeck differ from other software systems?
Flightdeck can be moulded and crafted around any number of differing requirements and will organise your information in a way that makes sense to you.

It would look familiar, use your own vocabulary, and it would support and underpin your requirements and processes rather than require you to change the way you do things.

We partner with our customers and deliver the solution in a service-based way which is focused on your business needs rather than as a software installation.

Essentially, we provide the advantages of a bespoke solution to your requirements but at similar costs and timescale to buying shrink-wrapped software.

  • How do I migrate the data I currently have?
I have various systems with data all over the place; I want to centralise this.

There is an import tool built within Flightdeck but we can also do the process for you.

  • Can I access Flightdeck over the web?
Yes. There are 2 ways of doing this. You can either have Flightdeck hosted (by yourselves or at a data centre) or you can set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

So long as you have an internet connection you will then be able to connect to Flightdeck from wherever you may be.

  • Can I send and receive emails through Flightdeck?
Yes. We currently have an integration with Outlook. If you have a different email client then we would look to integrate with it.
  • What happens if we want to add new users?
You just need to let us know how many new licenses you require. The price decreases at regular intervals as the number of licenses increase.
  • Will Flightdeck need replacing if/when our business processes change?
No. Most companies change their ways of doing things over time. It is for this reason that we decided to create a system that would follow a business’s evolution.
  • Is there a limit to the amount of data we can hold within Flightdeck?
    No.
  • What are the Hardware Requirements?

    Minimum Requirements:

Microsoft Windows 8 or above Operating System
    4 GB RAM
1.5 GB Free Hard Disk Space
